Community Resource Center (CRC) Partners with A+ Storage to Receive and Distribute all Non-food Emergency Supplies to the Tens of Thousands of Flood Victims in the Nashville Metro Area
May 11, 2010 (Nashville, TN) – The Mayor’s Office in Nashville has designated the Community Resource Center (CRC) to receive and distribute all non-food emergency supplies to the tens of thousands of flood victims in the Metro area. CRC is working with Hands on Nashville, which is coordinating volunteers on behalf of the Mayor’s Office, to get needed supplies into the hands of our most fragile citizens as quickly as possible.
The most urgently needed supplies are personal hygiene products, diapers, baby formula, cleaning supplies, tools such as crowbars and wheel barrows, bedding, new clothing, underwear and socks. CRC is not accepting used clothing or used bedding.
The CRC facilities also fell victim to the flood, so donations can be dropped off at A+ Storage in The Gulch, 911 Division Street, Nashville, TN 37203 between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Saturday. For more information, e-mail betsycrc@comcast.net.
The Community Resource Center is a nonprofit agency founded in 1985 that provides basic household necessities to more than 80 nonprofit agencies in Middle Tennessee for distribution to their clients. CRC is the supply line to the front lines of poverty. For more information or to donate monetarily, visit www.crcnashville.org or read the CRC blog, www.twochicksinawarehouse.wordpress.com.
A+ Storage has donated this distribution center to the CRC, and has nine other locations that are offering storage space to victims of the flood. Those locations are in Franklin, Hermitage, Gallatin, Murfreesboro, Spring Hill, Nolensville, La Vergne, Hendersonville and Clarksville.
