A+ Storage Continues Support for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
Annual event supports breast cancer community outreach and research
October 26, 2011 (Nashville, TN) – For the fourth consecutive year, A+ Self Storage in Nashville is donating storage space to the Greater Nashville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Volunteers with the organization are using the 1600 square feet of space to assemble race packets for this weekend’s Susan G. Komen Greater Nashville Race for the Cure. Race packets will be distributed from A+’s location in The Gulch (911 Division Street) to race participants on Thursday October 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The 5K and 1-mile run/walk will be held Saturday, October 29 at Maryland Farms in Brentwood. Nearly 24,000 participants and spectators are expected to attend the event. The annual Race for the Cure raises money for breast cancer research and education efforts.
Seventy five percent of net proceeds from the Race will remain in the Greater Nashville community to fund breast health community outreach programs including screenings and education. The remaining proceeds will support breast cancer research. Event organizers expect to raise $1.5 million from the event.

The Komen Race for the Cure is the largest education and fundraising event for breast cancer in the world. Held in more than 120 cities across the country and around the world, more than 1.5 million people are expected to participate in the Race Series this year.
Race festivities begin at 6 a.m. with a dog park, yoga, zumba, children’s area, “Survivors’ Parade” and much more. The race begins at 9 a.m.
