Tommy Pierce Thomas H. Pierce is the President and Principal Investor of A+ Storage.

Thomas (affectionately called Tommy) was born in Dallas Texas on November 17, 1949 to Robert L. and Mary Francis Pierce. Thomas attended St. Marks School for Boys and Highland Park High School in Dallas. Later Thomas attended New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell New Mexico. After high school and the military institute, Mr. Pierce received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas. In 1976 he took a real estate sales position with Tarrytown Properties in Austin, Texas, starting his real estate career. During his tenure with the primarily residential real estate company he led the company in gross sales.

In 1978 he received his Broker’s license and formed Pierce Properties. The new company bought, renovated and sold residential homes, brokered residential and commercial properties and put together syndications for commercial investments. Mr. Pierce purchased, expanded and occupied an office building in the urban downtown area of Austin, on Lake Austin Blvd. Construction management and lease management branches of the company were established at that time to serve Austin and the surrounding areas. At its peak Pierce Properties had fourteen agents, brokers and employees and enjoyed the prosperity of the business until it was sold in 1998.

Mr. Pierce relocated to Nashville and formed Ridgetop, Inc. as a development, construction and management company, for which he acts as President. In 1999 Ridgetop, Inc. began acquiring land and building self-storage facilities in partnership with AAA Storage out of Austin. Mr. Pierce was an equity partner in charge of land acquisition, entitlement, construction management and operations. He built three sites with AAA totaling more than 160,000 square feet.

In 2003 Mr. Pierce began A+ Storage, as its Principal and President and formed A+ Storage of Tennessee, LLC, to act as the General Partner for multiple self storage developments. A+ Storage has completed eight facilities to date totaling approximately 340,000 square feet, and is currently expanding two of those sites to add 55,000 Phase II square feet. There are also three new self storage locations under construction at this time for an additional 150,000 square feet, all of which are scheduled to open in 2008. Mr. Pierce decided to form A+ Storage due to his desire to build state of the art “Class A” storage facilities that are both customer service oriented and friendly to the surrounding neighborhoods. As of November 2008, A+ Storage operates 10 self storage facilities in the following Middle Tennessee locations:

• Franklin, TN
• Hermitage, TN
• Gallatin, TN
• Murfreesboro, TN
• Nolensville, TN
• Spring Hill, TN
• La Vergne, TN
• Hendersonville, TN
• Clarksville, TN

By the end 2008, Ridgetop, Inc and A+ Storage will have developed fifteen different parcels of land containing more than 100 acres, and will have completed the construction of 761,000 combined square feet of self storage. New projects are currently being considered in Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, New York and North Carolina. Mr. Pierce has been building self storage facilities for the past ten years with plans to more than double the size of the storage portfolio in the coming ten years.
